Great price! Also note that this is 4K although it is in a blue case. There must have been a shortage of black cases when they made this batch. I own it and it's a black slipcover with a blue case.

I've watched all the various iterations of Planet Earth on BBC over and over.

They are pretty redundant. I wish they could find some new surprises that they haven't featured before Attenborough passes on and they lose his magnificent narration...

Have you tried BBC's Human Planet narrated by John Hurt? I thought it was fantastic and definitely a change from the various "Planet/Blue/Green Earth" series.

They've always done black for 4k UHD. Blu Ray was originally for full hd or 1080 and probably to play on the name made the case blue

I thought that scene in Mammals shot in night vison where the leopard was stalking the troop of baboons asleep in the trees was amazing. Who ever gets to see that?

While I kindly disagree on the word redundant, have you watched those they made for AppleTV and Netflix?

I agree and the more I think about it, I realize there were quite a lot of unique segments that took weeks or months of filming to put together.

The best of these series were segments such as the snow leopards, the fish opening the clam, the octopus hiding in the coconut shell, the eagles waiting for the geese to tire over the Himalayas, the monkeys opening nuts, etc.

One thing I am sick of is watching penguins waddle around aimlessly and sit on an egg for 4 months, for example.
