For us unfortunate souls in California paying PG&E Summer peak hour prices of 62 cents per kilowatt hour the energy bill of running a 4080 for 3 hours a day alone could be $18 per month. Not to mention avoiding buying a $1000 graphics card. So this purchase saves money. That's what I tell my spouse anyway ...
Great deal!

GeForce Now ultimate tier high bitrate AV1 streaming quality at 4k 120fps makes everything else look like hot garbage. I now shake my head in disgust when I see even the smallest visual artifacts. It's ruined me forever.

Playing this on a handheld like ASUS ROG Ally which support 120Hz is like playing games on a Gameboy from 20 years in the future. Not just the visual quality, but the fact it also triples the battery life compared to running the game locally. Playing on a big TV is like a cinematic experience. Plus you don't have to deal with the fan noise or power bill of owning your own giant rig.

Nabbed the 6 month deal, just wish I could lock in the pricing for even longer. Previously my phone plan offered 6 months for free (no longer), so always be on the lookout for deals.
Two days ago I resubbed to the Ultimate Tier, paying the regular $19.99+tax price for one month. When I saw this deal posted today I immediately contacted Nvidia's GeForce Now chat customer support to see if I could either get a 50% refund or instead just add another month to my Ultimate Subscription. This was the response:

"I regret to inform you that there is no refund option available for GFN-related services, as detailed in our GFN Terms and Conditions, which can be found here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/membership-terms/ [nvidia.com] "

She then agreed to "...escalate this matter to the relevant team to explore potential solutions. While I cannot guarantee a refund at this time, our team will look for available options and keep you updated through email."

So while a partial refund is not completely off the table just yet, it's also not guaranteed and I may just have to suck it up and move on. This is just an FYI post for those that wanted to know.

"Premium" just refers to the paid tiers which there are two of. If you got Priority, then it's what the other guy said. If you got Ultimate (giving you the benefit of the doubt), you might need to change the streaming settings to get higher resolutions (outside of a stream session). When I used the website, it was set to "Auto" quality and I got a low resolution until I put a custom resolution. Then double check the resolution within the game once you start a session.

I guess I'm not that big of an audiofile because I've never had audio issues from streaming places like Youtube, Netflix, Hulu etc... I can't tell any difference in Geforce Now and native games.
I wouldn't really call it an issue, but it changes things when you experience the difference. I got a full home theatre at home. So when I watch movies with Blu ray discs or play video games, the sound is extraordinary. Everything it hits hard. The bass and the detail in the audio really changes everything. With streaming, the video quality is pretty close to physical media, but the audio is where the difference is night and day. streaming audio sounds flat and empty even on a home theatre because it takes a lot of bandwidth to stream all that data. I wonder if video games will suffer that same issue. And in my strong opinion, video games is even better for home theatre than movies. The audio in games can seem like an after thought if you've never really experienced a good home set up, but it changes everything after you experience.

I used to have stadia, and I often opted for games on console over stadia only because the audio was so much better on Xbox, even though the game play was the same. And Stadia's tech was perfect. but still, it didn't have the highs and lows for the audio that a console/gaming pc would have.

Just upgraded my free tier to the Priority. Checked the quality settings and standard uses 10GB/hr. Data saver uses 4GB/hr. My phone's hotspot is 10GB/mo 😂

At least I'm saving electricity costs and heat generated at home running this for the first 6 hours of gaming instead or running the game locally on an undervolted 4090, right?

I wish they would come out with an iOS native app already
I wish they would come out with a native Linux app. Officially the only way to use GeForce Now in Linux is to use a web browser, which severely limits features available on the Ultimate tier, (like no 4K streaming for example).

I got the Ultimate so the RTX4080 shows up with lots of VRam. But my games never shows screen option to select go past the 2560x1080. With Custom, I tried all possible setting including lower refresh rate no HDR but no success. The same installed game when run from PC with my RTX3070 shows screen option for 3440x1440 (native monitor resolution in Nvidia settings) and plays in that resolution.

EDIT: Got this working at 3440x1440. Found the changes in GFN custom configuration screenshot for reference

Has latency gotten better in the past, say… 18 months? I've got gigabit fiber at my house and there was still enough latency it just wasn't enjoyable. Meanwhile Stadia ran amazing for me, but that's gone.

I should just try it again but curious to hear from others.

Not sure. I've tried Stadia in the past though and for me GeForce Now has always had less latency.

Can this be purchased and activated later? Or does it immediately activate?

First time trying out Priority and played Still Wakes the Deep and my first session was great. I got a 3060 and I think I had FPS in the 80s with the settings (HIGH) and DLSS and whatnot. This was during off peak hours. I tried later in the day during busier hours and it gave me a 2080. The game launched much slower than my previous session and my FPS got cut down to 60.

The settings looked the same even though the settings in the GFN app says you need Ultimate to save your in-game settings between sessions.

I had to wait awhile and relaunch multiple times before I finally got another 3060 and the FPS were back in the 80s but now going up and down quite a bit (game FPS not stream FPS) which I don't remember it doing before...but I could be wrong.

I thought a 2080 was suppose to be better than a 3060 and even saw some people say it's preferred for the session. FPS charts show the 2080 being slightly better for the game I was playing.

So I dunno, a mixed bag so far for Priority membership. Image quality looked great @ 35 Mbps max bitrate...couldn't really even tell that I was streaming . Night and day difference between GFN and XCloud which uses 15Mbps bit rate and lesser hardware and makes it pretty obvious that you're streaming the game.
