It's small. 1st bike I actually buy from a place. Ordered for a 9year old. So the frame is small and the tires smaller. Yes the seat and handle bars rise up. But then it looks like a big kid riding a small bike. I might get bmx style handlebars as most children start on that kind. The straight bar at first can be an issue for a child to balance. for it so my child can ride a little longer. The seat is horrible for anything longer than 4 minutes. The chain cover is sort of just magically holding on with 1 or 2 plastic clips.
Very well made compared to the stuff at the big box stores of similar price. Has held up great over the past year or so of abuse. And for what it's worth, my 6 year old who is super skinny has zero problems riding this around. And where I live is full of hills, I get the weight argument in general, but comparing it to an adult riding a bike half their weight, is a little off the mark.

That's a reason why Woom bikes are $400+ with their <20 lbs bikes for even size 24".
That's what you're doing to your 50lb kid.
