Mine arrived from Amazon and the wood starter pack does have lights, but they only turn on when you spray the mist and for about 1-2secs after. So not really useful.

Get the wood even if you don't need it. It has led lights which helps soooo much to see the crap left on the floor.

isnt multi surface taking care of wood as well? or just go with the wood version for the extra light and it can do tiles too?

Just the wood kit has the lights. I believe it says all the solutions are pretty much interchangeable.

I keep hearing the ads on my radio for the swiffer powermop. I'm buying one just to see if it works well or not compared to my wetjet.

Wood one doesn't have lights. Just the solution and color is different.
