why someone needs that much resolution for Team/Zoom meetings? I'd like to give them as few pixels as possible.

Doubtful and I dont see a mention of Windows Hello, so no IR camera. Crazy to pay this much money and its missing something like that, this is a complete pass.

I've purchased 2 different Logitech 4k cameras and the results of both were far worse than the 920. Now I just keep my 920.

As of now, they both only support 1080p. This isn't going to do anything for anyone who wants to stream video content. Only use is if you are taking pictures of yourself at your computer or recording.

I agree with you, the less they see of me the better.last meeting i had to work in the office and the sun was being at my back because we have a state of the art building that can't do much. I looked like i was an unknown pokemon.

Most webcams are horrible quality.

I use an old iPhone and a free desktop app called Camo.

I was going to mention this after buying a 4k Brio for the office to conduct presentations -- it didn't make a difference. Depending on the level of service purchased from the meeting provider, the various vendors (Teams, Zoom, WebEx, etc) offer 720-1080 so 4k is overkill.

Regarding whether it was ever this low before...

Best Buy had it for the same price if you traded in any peripheral (mouse, keyboard, Webcam, etc). A couple months ago.

I traded in my dead Logitech C310 Webcam.

The main reasons I got this Webcam a couple of months ago was:

1. Audio mic quality
2. Adjustable field of view (what others can see)

Additional features that I like
1. Both a meeting and gaming app option (to set the camera)
2. Wotkflow automation (ie shortcut key to start video, open One Note, and launch the meeting)
3. Build quality
4. Lens shutter

I have the previous version of this Brio. In my experience it's far superior to the 920 I used for years. The clarity and color are much better and it does better with lower light. This is at whatever resolution I want to run. The audio quality is also better. I used to use a standalone mic but don't anymore because the audio quality is a step up from the 920 and good enough for my meetings.

I have gone through several webcams for daily meetings (100% WFH), including originally the C920 (that I already had) and then the Brio 4K (which looked better on the config monitor, and did better in low light than the C920 I think, but ultimately not much difference in meetings (Teams/Zoom). After getting frustrated with positioning issues (I change my desk setup all of the time, and I also shift around a lot), so I researched the best webcam I could find that had a gimbal/PTZ function built in.

I ended up with an Insta360 Link webcam, and this thing is AWESOME, it blows away all other webcams I have tried for ease of use, etc. The automation to lock on to my torso and zoom in/out based on the options I choose on framing, it follows me as I shift around, stand up/sit down, great image quality, etc., etc. It wasn't cheap relatively speaking, but for something I use every day, eliminating the frustration was worth the extra money that I spent on it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B826KS4B/
