Tbh, these batteries will last forever. And for devices like Google nest, these are the only compatible batteries.

In late june, Amazon increased the price on this from $7. to $13., or 82%. Twenty-five percent off this doesn't seem like a great deal....

According to camel camel camel, I think this is a good price for these batteries right now. Inflation increased the price of these batteries a lot.

Yes, these Energizer batteries are crazy expensive. I need them for my Blink cameras so I'm stuck with getting them. Luckily, they seem to last at least a year or two for me.

It's a different type of battery. First, in the worst case it has about it holds about 20% more energy than an alkaline battery and about 50% more than a NiMH rechargable. In the best case, at high drain, it holds more than 200% additional capacity over alkaline (there is minimal current-dependency on discharge). It will store without leaking in an active state (zero or uA drain) for a decade. It is also nearly unaffected by temperature, from -40C to +60C when used in low drain applications (25mA) as is common for monitoring tasks. And it has a nice drain curve, with the voltage holding up above 1.4v for 90% of it's capacity all the way up to 100mA drain.

So, yes, this battery is for real. It's not for putting into a kids toy or something easily changed or changed regularly. It's great for hard-to-change locations, great for products which need long life, great for high current needs, and perfect for items which you will need powered an emergency and want to store with the batteries in-place and ready to go.

And, as SeriousSardine pointed out, Google Nest (and Blink) devices require them to work properly/efficiently.

I've heard about using Tenevolts for Blink cameras a few years ago but somehow never looked into them. How long do the rechargeable batteries last? And where can you get the charger and batteries for a good price?

On amazon thru a third party seller, they seem to be going for $35 for the charger with four AA batteries. And $200 for the charger with 20 AA batteries.

they only last a few days in blink cameras and if you let them get to low they kill the camera.

If you need 16 batteries. Two of the 8 packs are about the same price as 4 of these. Figured that out after I had already ordered.
