Walmart is the place to buy blu-rays if the price between Amazon and them are equal.

The reason:

1) Usually in stock. Amazon has some kind of inventory issue with physical media.
2) Walmart packages them better so they don't get damaged during shipping. Amazon is run by AI and doesn't know that blu-rays need to be shipped properly to protect the cases from being damaged.

dang, got the normal packaging for $11 recently during the B2G1 free deal

I watched some of it last night, it's pretty good in 4K, It wasn't over sharpened like a lot of recent 4K releases, but idk if I needed to see late 90s CGI in 4K lol

That late 90's CGI still is more impressive than a lot of recent movies, at least for the bugs as the ships don't hold up as well.

I remember loving this movie so much i read the book and had no idea it basically skewers the book which is why I did not like the book but love the movie.

fair, I'm not angry about the 90s CGI, I just thought it was funny to see it in 4K.

As a kid, I had Jurassic Park on VHS and I thought the dinosaurs were real. I got the bluray when I was older and I could clearly tell they were CGI in 1080p lol

Not just 90s CGI, even with recent movies much of the special effects were done at only 2k even if they were shot on film, so unless you redo them like they did with Star Trek the next generation remaster, it can make the CGI stick out. Mad Max Fury Road for instance the flames look very fake in 4k.

This doesn't look to be sold or shipped by walmart.

Please Rewind is the Sony official distributor. So better than Walmart.

Have had good experiences with both Walmart and Please Rewind. The latter may as well be Walmart. They seem to be the primary seller of many titles on the site.

Then depending on what your ordering, likely to have the same success with either Walmart or Amazon. Several of my Amazon orders during the holiday period looked like they were drop shipped directly from Shout.

I'm just glad the Best Buy stanglehold is gone. Unless you could pick out a good condition steelbook in store, you were almost guaranteed to get something dinged up.

Nice to see this back in stock. The Dolby Vision update goes a long way in improving the overly hot HDR grade on the original release. This is one of the finest looking UHDs I own.

I checked the IMDB Tech Specs before buying, says 4K Digital Intermediate. You're right about the 2K CGI, this release is almost definitely 2K, but at least the live action footage is theoretically in 4K? I guess it's half real 4K lol
