Costco also has a 2pk on sale for $80 right now.

Really like this but the amount of times it's disconnected or failed to connect or stopped recognizing the device is crazy.

After 3 months mine doesn't even pair anymore. Factory reset does nothing.

The reviews seem a little all over the place...Costco (because of return policy) seems like a safer bet.

I'd buy another if I didn't have 2 already. They do everything the "name brand" does

Have the 2 pack, nice gadget but don't find myself using it too often. But nice to have for a large roast or whole bird etc where you don't want to have to worry

Amazon made an exception and processed a return; if they hadn't, I would have given CS a try.

When it works it's awesome, but as someone else pointed out, Costco might be the safer play if yours stops working after a few months.

Just went through 30+ reviews on Costco site - When it works it works, the rest of the time It's a garbage product that either loses connection all the time or doesn't show the right temperature. Useless in smokers as it doesn't show correct ambient temperature for most users

how do you like the flip food feature. seems pretty random, and doesn't seem to make sense to me because it doesn't know how hot i'm cooking

I have this unit and it works well, but i wish i would have bought the 2 slot kit. I bought an additional probe and there is not a good way to handle a second with this case. It stores in the case but it doesn't charge or go standby, so it just exists until the battery dies. So when you go to use them, one is completely dead. Works fine as a single probe though.

So you're basing your review and making statements as fact based on other reviews, and not your actual experience? First, if you're relying on a wireless thermometer to monitor your ambient temperature, it's not going to happen with any brand (trust me..I own most of them). The sensor is so close to the meat, that you won't achieve accurate readings until close to the end of the cook (after most of the evaporation has taken place and the meat has warmed). Just did an amazing tri tip last night in fact, and at the end of the cook the ambient reading was off of the actual temp by 3 degrees. Early in the cook it was off by much more which, again, is to be expected. Either way I don't care about that. I have other tools to measure ambient temperature that I trust and are more appropriate.

I can tell you from first hand use that my Chef IQ probes have worked flawlessly in each of my smokers and the reason I've been using them more than other probes is because they HAVEN'T lost connectivity for me. That's actually the reason I own several other wireless thermos as consistently losing connection is really frustrating. Are the Chef IQ probes perfect? Nope. None are. When I need perfection I use a combo with my Thermoworks Smoke and Thermapen, but I've used these enough to know I can trust them.

If you're wanting a reliable wireless thermometer that is quite accurate and reliable I think you'd be happy with these....especially if you've been frustrated with something like the Meater+, Meater 2+ that have consistent connection issues (they did/do for me anyways). The only reason I pull out a Meater now is for larger cuts of meat, as their probes are about an inch longer than these....I just know I will likely have to put up with dropped connections throughout the cook.
