DONT ORDER...ordered it twice and got the 6ft 1 piece rod. Returned both times. Look at reviews. Model numbers don't match the title on Walmart's website. Model numbers are for the 1pc 6ft rod and another on sale is for the 1pc 7ft rod.

That's really weird as most of the reviews are positive. Walmart is generally pretty good with returns though in case anyone gets the wrong one.

Correct. I ordered it last week during the same sale and was shipped a 1pc 7ft combo. I am still on the fence as to return it or not but its definitely NOT what I ordered.

Same experience. I have ordered 3 of them trying to get a 6'6", and have received two 6' and one 7'.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm actually looking for a 6' rod. Do you know what size reel this combo comes with? Is that at least accurate on the listing?

The ones I received had a 30 on the 6' rods, and a 40 on the 7'.

Typically the longer the rod, the further you can cast but lose a little accuracy if it is too long.

A shorter rod (7ft or under) is usually the best for more accurate casting but will not cast as far as a 10ft would.

I personally use a 6ft for lakes for better accuracy when casting near structure or under overhanging trees.

I use an 8ft for inshore so that I could cast out a little further when I'm fishing an open ocean bank.

And I use a 10ft for surf fishing or a 12ft for when the swells are a bit rougher and I have to cast a little further out to get past the break.
