Feels like a pretty good deal. I bought one for my TV setup. I think it'd be pretty difficult to beat this for the price. You get quite a bit of functionality + the dac appears to be pretty good all things considered. 4 star on amazon, but the negative reviews I was seeing weren't as concerning as I would have expected. I'm not planning on using it Bluetooth. If Bluetooth is your use case, maybe look into it a bit because I think that's what most of the complaints were about

Why would you use a dac for Bluetooth? That don't even make sense

I agree. A high quality DAC for Bluetooth kind of seems unnecessary. Now, it does have coax and SPDIF inputs which does make it useful for that and if that also gives you Bluetooth for a stereo that does not have it then that is just icing on top. Does anyone know if this is really that good? It seems to be much lower cost than even the "good" lower cost DACs like Schiit.

It has a USB IN, Coax IN, and Optical IN. So, yeah it totally makes sense.

This product could be thought of as a "combo DAC/Bluetooth receiver".

Seems like an ideal unit to pair with an older receiver or one of those cheap chip amps. Best of both worlds - audio quality (via wired DAC) or convenience (Bluetooth).

No, it's a Bluetooth receiver, not a transmitter

I do miss my Schiit's. It might be time to get back into audio again.

Does 1Mii own Lavaudio? I thought the Lavaudio was a silver aluminum unit.
If you are getting this for Bluetooth, this version 5.0 is dated. You can get a better Bluetooth version 5.2 or 5.3 BO6SPlus for $35. It has the purple ring.
Keep in mind this does not come with a remote control so if you hardwire your phone with a USB you're constantly walking up to the unit if you want to change songs or playlists.

Ds601 has an "audiophile" DAC (at least labeled as such in the dac manufacturer website), vs the bd06+ does not and does not even report what DAC chip it uses (at least I wasn't able to find it). So I guess the da601 may have an edge there.
Bluetooth 5.2 vs 5.0 implements some low energy protocol but it's probably not what you're looking for in a powered DAC unit. BT 5.0 and 5.2 have the same max data bandwidth, so there's no difference there in the more data demanding protocols they can support.
Ds601 also has some additional connectivity for audio in/out.
All in all, for a similar price I think the ds601 might have a bit of an edge. In real world applications the edge might not matter that much.
