If you hate scents and haven't used these before here is a warning - after you do the cleaning cycle with this it will make your dishwasher smell like a disgusting chemical perfume for weeks. It will stick on your dishes as well. I was wondering why my glasses of water tasted bad and I realized it was from whatever scent this leaves behind. I ran multiple vinegar/baking soda cycles after to try and remove the scent and it didn't completely help. Only thing that removed it was time.
I just used one of these for the first time yesterday. Basically, you peel a sticker off the cap revealing a wax plug. You place the bottle in the bottom rack cap down. As it heats up the liquid drips into the dishwasher cleaning it. The bottle is single use, and is empty when done. I had no problem with it. I'm wondering if people have problems because their dishwashers just aren't getting hot enough?

Thanks, always good for a cheap pickup. At this price rather use this than more corrosive vinegar.

I couldnt get the wax plug to melt to on these even on the hottest setting. Others have this issue based on reviews. I would recommend pods over this.

Sorry, can you explain a bit more? Which wax plugs were to be melted? Didn't really follow, trying to figure out if this should be a consideration for me...

Because I buy random things on slickdeals without investigating…

This is single use. Kind of expensive for that, if it wasn't at this price.

This is used to clean your dishwasher not your dishes. Other brands sell for $5-6, so this is good deal.

Yes I can understand that. But baking soda and vinegar are probably just as effective.

And none of these will prevent you from having to take it apart and clear the filter manually.

Can also buy a tub of home brewing chemicals like one step. Far more effective at cleaning organic matter.
