I purchased an open-box excellent for $1656.99 this past week. Upgraded the ssd to 4tb. Wish this deal would have been available last week so I could get the full Asus warranty (I think you lose it on open-box items? MyAsus lists it's active for a year though). Too much hassle to put the oem ssd back and return and do it all over again for a $60 difference. Open-box items are not eligible for price match Frown

So far I'm in love with this thing. It is speedy, light, has good battery life, and can play any game at 1440p decently. The screen is one of the best I've seen on a laptop!

If you're on the fence, just BUY IT. If you want to save some money(~$500) at the cost of a tiny bit of performance most people wont notice, the 16GB Ram with the 4060 goes on sale for $1099.

If the Asus product was previously registered, I don't think it can be done again. So the year is probably what you'll get. They don't know it's OB unless you rat on yourself.

Disable CPU boost, limit thermal limit for CPU and maybe use a fan. My G14 is set to 75. I don't really trust gaming laptops with heat. It tends to kill components over time.
Don't see that option in GHelper

Open ghelper
"Fans + power"
"CPU boost" -> disabled or efficient
Advanced (tab) -> CPU temp and undervolt

This is for sure fast, nice display and powerful small laptop. The down side for me is that the lap top start getting hot just after 15 min watching youtube video, battery is not really reliable unless you plug in all the time, quite heavy for small lap top and carrying everyday to college is not fun at all.

The built quality and the design of this laptop is awesome.

And I am returning this for lenovo legion slim for longer battery life, lower temperature and lighter weight.
Do a clean install of W11...I have 24H2 preview on G14 2023. It can last 12-15hrs when I'm typing documents or coding offline.

Manually install the AMD iGPU and Nvidia drivers. Debloat W11 or create custom ISO. On battery set to silent, undervolt and get rid of Asus bloat.

What you're experiencing isn't normal. I use my G14 for studying and heat isn't an issue outside of gaming, or archiving (intense tasks).

Not sure where you're getting your stats from but the legion slim is both heavier and thicker than this laptop. Also, I've seen reviews of the legion slim and I doubt that it lasts longer than the G14, even though the legion has a larger battery.

This is a good deal.

The cheapest this 4070 / 32gb model has been until today was $1,749.99…

The 4060 / 16gb model was $1099.00 like two weeks ago….
Aaaaan the new model is out any day now.

You are right about the weight but for the rest, I still think lenovo is better after I went to BB and test it for awhile.

I was too, but the battery life is horrible on the lenovo and the size/weight/build/speakers are much better on the G14 imo. Depends on your needs though.
