This is VERY comparable to the Scotty Squareback 2.

I spent no less than 3 hours putting back and forth between BB8W and the SB2 at a local PGA superstore - yes I was that guy. Eyes closed, there was no discernable difference between the two. I ultimately went with the SB2 solely for the fact that Scotty's hold their resale more but for this price, it would be a no brainer to pick up a Bettinardi instead.

If you're on the fence, or $300+ Scotty's don't make sense to you just yet, this is easily one of the best mid-blades I've ever rolled. Even better that Maple golf is selling various lengths, so if you know you're length, you're only a lie adjustment away to a fully custom club.

No, I'm not a shill, just a very passionate golf gear head lol

Is this worth an upgrade for me? I have the Odyssey White Hot OG putter

Great putter! Unfortunately it's tough to blind-buy putters. I'm tempted but my KS1 and Scotty mallet will suffice for now.

This looks similar to my Kirkland putter. How does it compare?

I also had the KS1 for 2 seasons. The KS1 is a solid putter for what it's worth and I really enjoyed using it - it's build more similarly to a Newport / standard blade style. The biggest difference to me was the feedback (I know that's subjective). Even though both are milled faces, I felt that I have better lag putting with the SB2. Worthy upgrade for me, but I'd agree law of diminishing returns applies.

Entirely different face feel. The white hot insert is much softer/muted feel and the BBW8 is much 'clickier' or 'metallic' which is true for any milled face.

Bettinardi's and Scotty's are abundant at local golf stores, it's definitely worth the 15 minutes stop by if you've never rolled one.

Other than the name, what makes it a good putter? Does it make the ball roll straighter? Is it made out of better material than the cheaper putters?

Milled design feels more solid at contact, superb craftsmanship, not worrying about Odyssey face inserts popping out…

KS1 has a milled face. White hot insert is on Callaway / Odyssey putters.

I've played Odyssey putters and have never seen an insert pop out. Are people driving with it?

The inserts are notorious for breaking down sooner than a milled putter, but I haven't had that issue with my OG 2-ball.

Interesting. This is the first time I'm hearing about it. I know Taylormade had issues with their Stealth drivers when they first introduced the carbon face.
