I agree in theory; but these are personal sized, portable blenders. I wouldn't want to be hauling my Vitamix about.
Yes I bought one a few weeks ago, it makes a 20oz smoothie
Obviously ninja is a few tiers better, but the cheap $18 (formerly $10) hamilton beach ones they sell for dorms at Target are mad decent and lasted me through college.

Are these personal sized blenders strong enough to blend frozen fruit into a smoothie?

I got mine on a front page deal from Kohl's 36 bucks. It worked all right. First time charge is two and a half hours the second time seemed like only 30 minutes. Either way, I only got seven uses per charge. Half of those uses are to clean it with soapy water. So only water as resistance and it still died that quickly. In the instructions it shows a cap for the bottom of the cup, but it does not come with one. So you are carrying around the whole unit as your cup. I don't know if my items were missing, but I have not been able to see anybody using a closed cup other than the picture directions inside the instruction manual

I just watched their video and yes, you carry around the base blender unit with you. I thought that was strange at first, but it's just like Blendjet I guess. Which is fine, but I don't think they (Blendjet) blend frozen stuff that well. This seems like a higher end product. Worth a shot I guess buying from Costco.

Yay, more kitchen gadgets to use once and stuff in the cupboard never to be used again.

Bought this back in June for $39.99 from Kohls. It was listed here on slickdeals. It's a pretty awesome blender. Use it often for protein smoothies

These are similar to the BlendJet 2. If you put the liquids stuff then solid stuffs second. Or switch from part liquid, part solid, part liquid, part solid, etc. The blender should have no issues blending all the stuff together. This process takes a bit longer but it works for me every time when I was using the BlendJet 2. Still waiting for BlendJet to provide the replacement base from their "voluntary recall". Fed up with BlendJet. I am about to buy this set from Costco.

I'm in the same boat as you. Requested a replacement 6 months ago and when I reached out to them this week, they are unsure how much longer. I told them to just cancel it. I'll just buy a new one instead.
