18 cups = 144 fluid ounces. Do they mean the empty container weights 2lb? That seems closer to right, but still wrong.
From the description. Did a quick search, looks like most family size boxes are about 19oz. I saw one "giant size" that was about 28oz.
As the poster above mentioned, they nest/arrange well but not perfectly so they might not be the best choice if you want/need every single cubic inch of space - but otherwise highly recommended at this price.

The volume of 32oz of cat treats ≠ 32oz of corn pops ≠ 32oz of grape nuts.
Container capacity needs to be measured in volume units, not weight units.
