Ok thanks. I did click on get email. Haven't checked in a while. I'm stooked getting cheap RF lenses - but I will pass on this one for now. I purchased the 16mm f/2.8 a while back as well as the 50mm F/1.8. Looking for a good 24-70 f/2.8 anf 70-200 f/2.8.

Is this a good lens for portrait and bokeh shots?

It would be, but more importantly you really should look at the full details on the lens:

This is a wider aperture (f/1.8) which will give that shallower depth of field.. but being 24mm it's pretty wide angle, especially on a full frame. I like this field of view, but definitely not for everyone. 35mm is kind of the "standard" field of view, and 24mm might be seen as TOO wide depending what you're shooting (people start to get distorted). On a crop sensor camera, it would be closer to that 35mm equivalent.

The wider the lens, the less bokeh you'll have.. so comparing this 24mm to a 50mm 1.8, you'll get much less bokeh (and will need to get in closer to get more out of focus areas).

If bokeh is all you want, get the 50mm 1.8. If you want something as kind of an all-around lens, something like a 35mm 1.4 would be a great option (something like a Sigma, but you might need the adapter to use that)

For portraits, You can consider the rf 35 version if you have a full frame. Seems to be the same price right now. If you have an APSC, this 24mm is also good.
