Curious to how this laptop compares to this one:
https://slickdeals.net/f/17660853-lenovo-yoga-pro-7-14-5-qhd-ips-90hz-ryzen-7-8845hs-rtx-3050-16gb-lpddr5-512gb-ssd-845-24?p=172148181&comment=success#post172148181

The Yoga Pro has the faster Ryzen 7 8845HS though it uses more power according to this review:
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/comp...tra-7-155H

Also, the Yoga Pro has a dedicated graphics card, however, this unit has 32GB of RAM. Which feature is best for future-proofing? Not a gamer nor a designer, but do code and run model simulations from time to time (smaller datasets housed in csv files). I want something that can last the next 5 years and keep up with the AI push.

Probably this because of 32gb ram and the new ultra chipset

For your use case, I would go with this one.

60hz is perfectly fine with a general use/office laptop and has nothing to do with flickering.

The Slim 7i and Slim 7 are interchangeable.

I purchased it from Lenovo initially with a promotion and the Amex offer, but it still wasn't cheaper than Staples or Costco for similar specs. Ended up cancelling and buying from Staples, as this deal wasn't available at the time.

I bought one a few days ago on while passing through Delaware. The build quality is quite good, and thus far runs as I would expect with good battery life for a mid-tier laptop. The downside is really the screen which will feel like a compromise to anyone who regularly uses a higher res display and likes really crisp 12pt text.

(Edit: I just put it side by side with my son's 2023 Asus zenbook 14 which is a piece of junk apart from the display and the difference is very noticeable. It's a shame that's where that cut corners. I would much rather they dropped the useless touch feature.)

Thanks. I will use it primarily for emails and coding with an external monitor. Occasionally might use it's display when using it outside of my desk area. I don't play games so no heavy graphics activity. Is the screen bad even for day to day activities?

The screen is fine as long as you are ok with glossy. It's just not a high res screen by today's standards.
