Yes, the non-inverter Firman uses 8 gallons of gasoline in 12 hours, minimum. This uses 4.32 gallons in 12 hours.

This is also ~6-8 db quieter.
FWIW, I purchased this last year, also on sale at $999. When I received and unpacked it, the thing had cracked and detached panels all around. Oddly, the carton & packing was in excellent condition; so can't imagine it being shipping damage (more likely shoddy QC). Back in the box it went, and started the shipping return process (which wasn't easy).
Even tried reaching out to Aipower, but never heard back, so that was my first and last time with the brand.

Hopefully a better experience for you, just wanted to share.
I find it odd, unless I'm just missing it on the Costco page, that it only shows the peak wattage output, not the running output. You have to look at the one image to see the real output
Gas - Peak 7100, running 5700
Propane - Peak 6400, running 5100

It does sound like a good price for a dual fuel invertor generator, not sure about the brand reliability though. If I didn't have a generator, I'd really look into this one!

Is this any better than the Firman tri fuel generator that was on sale last month for $800?

This is an invertor while Firman is not

1) Thank you for taking the time and effort to help us with that information. Whoever TD'd your comment is on my "wish I knew who it was so I could block them" list. 🤣
2) I agree! Either way, I think the best part of this deal is where you get it. And repping the OP for taking the 2 seconds to include Costco in their title, as well as for posting the deal! Hardly anyone includes the source in the title now. Should be required.

I bought one last year at this price, luckily mine was in good shape. Only ran it once but seemed to work well and quieter than my open frame inverter

Since Costco has them in stock, why don't you have them remedy the issue.

No, only gasoline and propane. I have this and would like to use with nat gas, but have been unable to find any reliable guides to make it happen.

FYI. you're supposed to exercise it regularly. Once a week for 30 minutes without load and once a month for 30 minutes with load. That's the recommendation but I personally fail at this. At best I run my generators once every 4-8 weeks, and usually without load. Haven't had any issues since owning them, which has been about 8 years. I do use ethanol free gas though.

This was a year ago, and I tried that route, but all Costco would do is arrange for return shipping with a freight company. Despite the fact that I did not even add oil or gas to the generator, they could not use FedEx (who delivered it) due to hazard restrictions.

I waited close to 2 weeks for the freight company to schedule a pickup date, contacted Costco again and they couldn't assist, told me to be patient. Since I was heading out of town on vacation and didn't want this sitting around, I had to get the 130lb carton loaded into my car, drive over an hour to the closest warehouse to return it myself (my warehouse didn't stock this generator, so no way to swap).
Yeah, Costco is great for accepting returns for the most part, but this process ended up being a headache.

I've heard that recommendation before.

No way in heck am I doing that for something that will only be used a few days a year.

If you use propane/NG instead of gasoline the concern of gumming the carb is eliminated.
