The catch:

So it's $25 a month, not a year, and the discount is only on the first month. I'm betting what you see in the pictures is what you get in a year, not in a month. E.g. the webpage says each learning box give you 15 minutes of activity. Doesn't seem worth $3, let alone $25.
Here is a screenshot of what the first box actually comes with.
Do they engage in any trickery to keep you subscribed?

I was just coming to put this on here. I am 100% sure that I canceled all of these. I had ordered all 6 to be sent to my niece and then ordered them for my own kids, so it was 12 orders. I triple checked that I canceled them all after they were all shipped. I just got an email that 5/12 subscriptions were shipped for this month. Mad Now, my account looks all confusing. It shows all of these orders as "active", and it shows all of them costing $27.xx, but the emails I received show that I owe $0.00. I originally payed with PayPal and I don't see any transactions for these. I re-canceled these. I'm so frustrated with this, because when I canceled the first subscription, I printed the paper that said I did that but then I didn't print anymore because it seemed wasteful to print 12 pages of paper showing I canceled these. I also assumed I would get cancelation emails.

If haven't done already, dispute the claim in your PP account. Explain what happened.
PP will contact them about it. Highlights may be getting desperate to sell magazines in the digital age. You'll get a refund if you tried to cancel like you already did. GL!

Thank you. Smilie All of the charges went through today. So, it was like $136.15. I called and was told I would get a refund. But, she said it would take two weeks and I will get a confirmation email then. I hate this kind of thing. I feel I will probably have to follow up again. I will definitely file a PayPal claim if they don't refund. I know I canceled them.

If you don't want to play the waiting game, give them a 2-3 days. If you still don't see the refund, just go ahead and file the claim. That way the ball's in their side of the court and the CC/Paypal will handle it.
You can file a claim since you contacted them and gave them 2, 3 days.

The "I Can Read! Book Club" and the "15 MIN TO [GRADE] SUCCESS" had different account numbers for me, even though they were purchased in the same order. So even though I canceled everything in the "15 MIN" subscription, the "I Can Read" subscription was still active. And even though I used a temporary credit card they couldn't charge after the initial payment, they sent an additional shipment and are now sending invoices.

note: it seems people here have had bad luck in calling to cancel their subscriptions...

i've taken advantage of their deals before and cancelled online - when you cancel online it's one click and i got a confirmation email immediately.

just fyi it may be wise to do it online
