As stated in the original post, Starbucks has been losing customers due to inflated prices and stock price suffered all year long.

While I like using these, my app never applies it. I always feel bad that the baristas have to manually do it. I wonder why the app gives me the offer, but wont' ever apply it.

It used to never work for me and the baristas did not know how to apply it manually.. but after reaching out to starbucks support theyfixed the issue, and it works for me now.

I only go to starbucks during these deals, its cheaper than renting office space and I get a drink too lol

That normally varies by promotion. If it's a widespread promotion such as this, they often need to manually apply the discount at the POS (for many customers). If there's a code specified (for more targeted promotions), they often don't work (crazy, I know!) and if that's the case, it won't pop-up automatically, so they still need to adjust it manually at the POS. In those cases, it can get confusing for them and sometimes you'll need a manager to intervene.
You would think that, after years of doing this, the company would somehow get their act together already! It's truly ridiculous!🙄

lol, that would be nice, I work 4 days a week currently fully remote right now. I do have a home office, but it is nice to get out of the house and work here and there.

My office is also upstairs and sometimes its tough keeping it under like 85-90 degrees 😅

And we've just entered a recession. It's going to be a very tough time for these greedy corporations. I anticipate a lot of store closers and mass layoffs in the retail sector.

"Handcrafted" has to be the most obtuse phrase yet to be invented by branders. For this reason alone, I will avoid Starbucks.
