For those who don't know, Deco gear is Beech Camera's house brand. It's probably some other name brand monitor rebadged as a deco gear. I've had three Deco Gear monitors (upgrading), and they've all been great. They're not top of the line monitors, but they're also not top of the line prices. The pictures are very good, especially for the price. They generally aren't officially freesync or gsync certified (though they say that this one is freesync on the deco gear website), but they have an adaptive sync setting that generally works fine with both.

This would be tempting for me, but I really need the extra screen space that 4k (and sharpness) brings and hate the ultrawide form factor. While it would be an upgrade for me in size, it would be a downgrade in quality and screen height. It's basically two 27" 1040p monitors side by side, with no bezel between them. For me, a 43" 4k monitor is a better fit for my desk and my needs.

But it's a great deal for someone wanting a huge 49" monitor. It's currently selling for $700 on Amazon, Beech Camera, and Beech's Buydig site. It's $639 on their Deco Gear site.

If you're willing to gamble on Amazon resale, they're selling the Gigabyte Aorus 43" FV43U 4k monitor in "used acceptable" condition for $419. In my case, it was an open box return in perfect shape. (The "acceptable" was based on the damaged box.) It's not quite as big as this, but is much taller, better quality, and cheaper, too. It's VESA DisplayHDR 1000 and Freesync Premium Pro certified, too, compared to HDR400 and regular Freesync for this one.

This is a miserably large display for only being 1080 vertical pixels.

Yes and a 27" 1080p display sucks to work on. 1440 would be much better for just about everything, especially at this size.

I am always curious. What's stopping someone from getting a wide ass 4k tv? One can plug it to practically any system... curious
Are you asking what's stopping someone from using this as a TV? Nothing, but why would you? Nothing is filmed for this aspect ratio.

This is what I did years ago. I bought a Samsung 43" 4k TV and it has been awesome. It doesn't turn on when I start my laptop, but for me that's a minor issue.
LG has a 43" 4k monitor that has four separate inputs. So you can essentially have four 1080 P screens within one big screen. If I remember correctly. That would be a sweet set up.

The other way. What's stopping someone from using a TV rather than this monitor?

Exactly. Sometimes the novelty of a monitor may not be needed and a cheap tv may just work fine, correct?

Now on a TV, can we connect multiple screens like the monitor if multiple hdmi inputs are possible? Thnx

Yes, I do exactly that on one of my machines. One 32" monitor and one 43" tv. It works well.

Why would you run 1080p on this monitor?

I only came here to comment that the graphic reminds me of the old 3dfx voodoo boxes.

You are not suppose to use this for work 😆 clearly not a office monitor but a gaming one
I have a 49" Samsung Odyssey G9 I use for work. It has a 1000R curve compared to this but I can break the screen down into 3 seperate sections so it's like I have 3 monitors going. When I need to do editing then I just use the whole screen for more timeline real estate.

It's the same height as a 27" monitor, but twice as wide.
This is hard to hear and not laugh at. Ok, pixels work like small layers… vertical pixels stack horizontally…. So it splays over the height of the screen, not the width. That's predicated via the horizontal pixels.

Take your logic… the small number vertical… is always second… look at your monitor or television… is the height wider that the width? No, education should always come before lecture, and its sad you got a lot of thumbs up for it.
