Got this a month ago not on sale, saw it on sale, and got a price adjustment done online. e.z-p.z

Pros
* very effective at pulling the water out of the air

Cons
* loud relative to my prior dehumidifier
* puts out quite a bit of heat

Notes:
*I keep it downstairs so the noise isnt much of an issue
*Heat is off putting in the summer. Will be fine in winter, but likely wont run as often (here in the northeast)
*I keep it at 55%, and my govee at the other end of the room ~20ft reads btwn 54-57
*Havent used the pump yet, but will look to rig something up (no drain/sink downstairs)
*From what I've read, when using the pump, it wont kick on until the internal reservoir fills
up

Overall, happy with initial purchase. Would rate 4.2-4.3/5, might bump it up if/when i utilize the pump.

No just wash it and throw it back in. It's like a metal screen. this thing is awesome. it keeps my 2600 square ft basement at 45-50% humidity no issues.

Would you recommend this or Midea cube 20 pint for $179 for my 500sq ft apt which is at 85% humidity?

because of your space constraints, I would say go with the cube as it will be much smaller. If you had a larger space I would say go with the Costco deal. You could measure out a space in your apartment where you think you would put the dehumidifier and see what will work for you. 85% humidity is crazy tho

Just bought one on Sunday. The unit works very well, but the it only has two fan mode, low and high, and both of them are loud. Little bit too loud if used in the bedroom. I wished it has quiet mode.

Thanks. Think I'll drop by Costco tomorrow and pick one up. My basement is around 2400 sqft and since the a/c rarely runs down there humidity has become a problem. Looks like this model ought to work pretty well.

Edit: I'm looking at the online manual now. It's not clear from the manual...I presume that the pump comes on automatically when the pump when enabled so that the unit can be left unattended for days at a time?

You have some crazy infiltration going on at 85%. You don't have a fresh air makeup duct to the outside wide open or something do you? You can have all sorts of stuff growing in the house at that level.

Yup. Pump is auto. I also ran a garden hose just in case the pump ever failed.
