I've got both the SL 75C and an SM57. The SL 75C is no SM57 by any means (handling noise, for instance, and the SM57 just sounds "fuller" to me), but it is definitely worth $14 (or even its normal $25). I've paid more for worse mics. Also, an SM57 will fit in the plastic case you get; I'm tempted to get another SL 75C at this price if just for that purpose. Haha.

I'm sure SM57 is better, but I may only use it once or twice a year, so SL 75C fit better in my case.

That's the idea, yes. But you can use any microphone for any purpose if it gives you the sound you want.

I'm gonna get this to compare with the Pyle (shure copies) mics I got for 15.00 from Amazon years ago. My Pyle mics (with a scarlet solo) have gotten so many compliments over the years, and I've used 1000+ mics as well with other focusrites. Maybe this is close enough. If not I'll probably gift it
