nearly every post you've made on this forum since joining is to dump on protein deal posts. On top of that, you personally don't understand why someone would pay more for isolate vs concentrate. We get it. Move on.

Wow that's the highest I've heard! Thanks for sharing. Not trying to persuade you but just based on my own research I don't think 1g/lb is necessary and ultimately will lead to fat creation but I realize a lot of people do that and have had success. One well received study [nih.gov] found anything over 1.6 grams/Kilogram of body weight didn't provide a benefit. In fact I believe not a single study has shown more than 1.6g/kg provides any benefit in muscle growth. But if you've had success with 1g/lb then I understand staying on that.

Now this is just for natural bodybuilding, steroid users may benefit from more protein.
No offense that research is outdated already.... https://www.sciencedirect.com/sci...9123005402

Looks like you can mix as long as they are part of the promo. I added 2 cocoa pebbles and 1 vanilla to my cart.

Just trying to figure out how to change the delivery date to unlock the full 15% S&S discount.
If you figure this out, let us know!

How did you guys get it to work with subscribe & save? It makes me subscribe one tub at a time, and doen't give the discount. Discount is only applied for me if I do the one time purchase.
When I click subscribe & save, it lets me pick 3 as the option. Also, make sure that Amazon isn't doing it's weird one time thing. For a while, I would try to buy something subscribe and save and it would give me a 5% discount to get it instantly. I had to manually select my normal subscribe and save delivery date to get the additional discount.

I agree with the other poster. I would think higher than 1g/lb would be less about the protein and more about the other calories you're consuming to get to that amount. But I'm shooting for about 215 grams of protein a day, so 5 scoops gives me 100-125 depending on the protein powder. Then I have about 30 grams with each main meal and a protein bar and that about hits 215.

Great deal on the Cocoa Pebbles with the 15% S&S off and 10% coupon clipped. Wish the Peanut Butter Chocolate was eligible or could be mix and matched, but would have been ~$15 more even if it was eligible.

The study you linked to is testing something completely different than the question of "how much protein should someone ingest in a day for optimal muscle growth". The answer to that question has never been shown to be more than 1.6g/kg of body weight.

The study you linked to (which is a very interesting study) is answering the question of "how much protein can the body synthesize in ONE sitting post exercise". In other words how should the protein be distributed throughout the day for optimal muscle mass? There was a notion that (For example) you shouldn't take more than 40 grams in one sitting at a time because "the body can only use so much protein in one sitting". So the study you linked to shows that isn't true up to 100 grams in one sitting.

Some initial thoughts:

The problems with the study are that for some reason they didn't also test the established "~40 grams" limit that has been floating around forever, so we can't compare how much better 100 grams in one sitting is to the 40 gram notion.

Another problem with the study is that it isn't measuring hypertrophy/muscle growth over time it's a very acute study just measuring immediate protein synthesis.

A third problem is that the subjects they used in this study were not people that normally did resistance training so they would naturally have very hungry muscles after resistance training that they aren't used to.

And last, competing modern studies still kind of show no marginal gains above 30/40 grams ingested per sitting so this study is going against the grain in that regard, which is great because it will spur more studies.

Anyway, super interesting study that shows distribution of protein consumed in a day probably doesn't matter as much as people thought before.

Just curious, how many scoops do you guys consume in a day? I do 1 per day but will probably go up to 2 (at separate times). Finding it hard to get more than 100 grams of protein a day even with 1 scoop.
Three. One for breakfast, after workout, and right before bed (casein). If I'm going to eat an actual meal for breakfast or right after my workout, I'll skip the shake. I also no longer do full scoops. My protein levels were elevated in my annual physical blood tests when I was taking whey religiously. This is purely a hunch, but I think all of these supplement companies will tell you that you need to consume more than you really need just so they can sell you more.

0.7/g per lb of lean mass is considered by some exercise scientists to be enough and is a much more realistic guideline. Marginal benefit to 1g+ per lb body weight. If you're trying to squeeze out as many gains as possible, sure go for it

You have to have at least 5 items in your S&S scheduled for the month in order to qualified for the 15% SS.
