Your comment doesn't even make sense.

Tall people use small step ladders all the time inside their house or in the garage where ceilings are much higher than them.

Many new homes are built with "vaulted" ceilings or 9ft height walls. It's become very common and lucrative add ons for new home builders (probably last 20yrs).

This particular step ladder though, I agree with other comments it's not up to par with other or older built units. It can hold 200s weight wise but isn't very sturdy. Likely to eventually break with regular use for someone in their 200s.

Also I should note that both this and the 3 step version (same load capacity) are often on sale for just $15.

I bought one of these and don't trust it. I have older models and they feel safe and originally also cost $20. I feel this current model has lots of plastic.

They have them in store, so you can go check it out beforehand.

225 lbs limit? I'm not over 200 lbs and even I wouldn't buy this. Why does HD even stock something like this?
Because most people that use this are short and usually under 225 lbs. If you need to use a step and are over 225 lbs., then you have bigger problems than worrying about the weight limit.

I don't think he said anything about taller people only average height. He said most people who use this ladder are shorter and weigh less than 225. But if you are shorter and weigh more than 225 lbs then they need help.

This step ladder is identical to the one sold by Harbor Freight. It's probably some generic Chinese manufacturer selling the same garbage globally with different logos and colors.

Thanks for the insight. I was thinking what about just climbing a chair instead? I guess this would be lighter and more compact for frequent use in the kitchen. For reaching high ceilings for taller people, I would suggest getting at least 3 steps (or desk high).

because there are people who have many ujses for the small ladder like putting those bicycles on top of your car. Painting your walls. Grabbing food from the high shelves. Using it to take photographs and so on. I mean, if it was so useless, im pretty sure no one would make them right?

This is the better one and was also on sale $15 once upon a time. Not sure if we will ever see that sale price again for this but maybe $20 during the holidays.

The shipping packaging is non-existent. I need to look it over to see if I even want to keep it. There are a bunch of marks on it due to delivery.

It's the European model.
But seriously .... I have it and it's a solid product. I'm certain it could hold 300 lbs. They're just under-rating.

So shorter, heavier people don't need step ladders for some reason? That doesn't make sense.

I bought one of these last time it was $15, and would say it's worth $15 but not much more. Be aware though, they ship it with a label slapped on one of the steps. It showed up looking like it fell off the back of the truck. So many scratches and deep dents. For only $15 the closest Home Depot store was too far away for me to deal with trying to return. I still use it sometimes and it works fine
