Stream Decks are premium products for a handful of niche industries.
They of course can be used for streaming, but can also be used to automate repetitive tasks. They're useful for digital drawing, data entry, etc.
The main problem is you have to want a screen on each button because if you just want the macros you should just buy a QMK/VIA keyboard and you get more buttons for cheaper (but no screen, so you have to memorize which button does which custom combination). Macros are basically a combo of buttons that are pressed when a single macro'd button is pressed.
Stream Decks are the intersection between 1.) wanting to customize your setup, 2.) you don't want to memorize the layout of macros, and 3.) you do repetitive tasks somewhat frequently. Only if you do all 3, should you buy this product.
I'm on a lot of Zoom calls. Instead of having to find my house, find the cursor on the screen and move to the unmute button, I can just reach out and hit a single button. Done speaking? Hit the button again to go back on mute and return to reading email.

I'll just add that I'm not a streamer nor a photo/video editor, but I find these types of products to be incredibly useful. I've had the Loupedeck Live for about a year now and couldn't imagine going back to not having it. I've set up custom pages for all of my most used apps (web browser, productivity apps, games, etc) and it's become second nature to just reach for the shortcut instead of doing many of the repetitive mouse/keyboard combos that I would have previously used. I prefer the Loupedeck I have to this or even the regular sized StreamDeck because of the 6 dials included on the Loupedeck, but regardless I think even non-streamers and non-productivity based users could potentially find a worthwhile use case for a device like this.

Love this thing! Bought the 32 button one to manage different chrome profiles, rdp sessions, vpns for work. You can launch programs, enter text, run scripts.
Start my day and hit a button to launch mail, teams, vpn, one note. Like the excel functions too, quick button to create pivot tables, merge and center, turn on filters. Saves me a lot of time throughout the week.

Jokes aside, I bought one recently and use it for work - but mostly because I had a Target offer and thought it would look kinda cool on my desk.
It can take some time to program it the way you want, the software is quite flexible and they have a plugin store.
