This one is good for 6 stitches in my shin after it bounced off the wood I was chopping. A camping trip is not a camping trip without a trip to the ER.

These appear to be a rebrand of Gerber/Fiskars hatchets and axes. I have 2 of the Fiskars X27 and it is well built and the metal is of good quality. Granted, there may be some different QC requirements between these companies, they are mostly well built for the weekend lumberjack. The hatchet is probably the most useful for the average person for camping, emergency kit in the car, and the occasional fire pit fire in the backyard.

Ax throwing somehow costs this much for just one visit.

... To throw an ax at some poorly spray painted OSB.

Price is good and reviews are good - until you read the reviews. Might be good if you just want to make sure you have one.

If you click other sellers for V14 - choose shipped and sold by Amazon - it has a 10% coupon and price comes down to $13.81.

I like the 6th photo in the advertisement of the guy splitting wood while holding it with his fingers a quarter inch from the blade...You're a braver man than I, Stumpy.

Think about it this way:

If you have to ask "how's the quality of this?", why not just spend the extra $15 and buy a Fiskars with a lifetime warranty?

Something that can inflict grave bodily harm if it breaks seems like a poor item to save so little money on.

This definitely is not a rebrand, of the Fiskars because the axe head geometry is slightly different. It's certainly styled off of Fiskars.

If you are casually chopping wood I think these will work well. If you are chopping cords of wood, get the Fiskars.

Lots of broken axe handles in the reviews. Seems to be cheap plastic handle. I would spend a little more for the Fiskars or just wait for Fiskars to go on sale.
