The new burgers they use suck. The old ones they had for years and years were so good. I asked the store manager when I last went and she told me it was really to cut costs, they went to a less lean, cheaper cut of beef that allowed it to be "juicier" aka more fat and slightly bigger bc its a crappier cut. It doesnt taste near as good. Same for the bun and cheese she said, both were swapped out and Red Robin claimed it was for taste but as always it was to save a buck. Then they only bring you about 8 fries at a time so you are having to reorder another 8 fries over and over which is a bit annoying but they are still good.

Last time I tried their bottomless fries and they sucked. Only brought out a bit of fries initially and only really came by once to refill them. Never heard or seen the waitress again to even ask for drinks or fries. Even have to chase them down for a check. That makes the bottomless fries pointless. Not to mention the soggy fries that sat all day in a bin.

Normal price at my location is $13.99 so this is a $4 savings. Though at normal menu prices you can get a tavern double for $9.79 including bottomless fries so this doesn't seem like that big of deal. Still nice to see discounts from Red Robin. They used to have a good loyalty program but it's gone downhill in recent years.

Yeah, my experience too. Bottomless fries is really just the initial serving plus one more. That said, I try to ask them when I order to bring out some fries while I wait for the meal.

We must be lucky because both the RR's near us a pretty solid.

They always bring a basket of fries for us while waiting for our food. They are decent. I mean they are a steak fry so they will never be super crispy.

All our RR closed following the pandemic. The closest to San Diego is now in Temecula, which is 50 miles North. RR went down hill somewhere and never came back. Their fries are available in the freezer section of many supermarkets and come out great in an air fryer.

I agree with their stinginess on fries. Bottomless but a huge hassle. Best just to stay away.

RR used to be my go to for a great cheeseburger. Last time I went is probably the very last time. Burger was just terrible and overpriced.

Surprised to hear all the hate, just went there a few weeks ago and it was delicious, got 1 refill of fries (and I was stuffed after those so I didn't need another) service was fine, and even without this particular deal, it was still cheaper than 5 Guys.

I went earlier this week for my annual visit to redeem for my free birthday burger. Most of the burgers were now over $15 pushing $16. The bill with 2 waters and 2 burgers before my discount, tax, and tip was $33 so the price keeps creeping up. It was a decent experience and our server anticipated a second order of fries which came out in 2 minutes hot and fresh. The burgers were just ok and not $16 burgers. I also noticed even for a Saturday night they were not busy where in years past they would have a line out of the door so they may have outpriced themselves in todays economy.

Within a 20 minute drive of my house there are 4 Red Robins. One is a spot I will never go back to, two are "typical" where the floor is sticky, food and service are meh. But that last one, oh boy. It's actually fantastic. The burgers are good, the fries are always fresh and plentiful, servers and bussers who aren't even dealing with your table will refill your stuff. IDK what that location is doing differently but it's definitely worth the extra minutes in the car to avoid the others.

Honestly though, I think people are expecting Red Robin to be a great sit down dining experience and you have to temper your expectations on what you're getting for $10-15. They are targeted towards families and people watching games.

Not that I've been to RR in awhile but this is the catch with AYCE stuff - THEY decide how much you can eat and how often. So yeah it's AYCE but they are hoping you get full/tired of the food and stop.

It's a good deal if you have teens. However, the quality of their burgers has declined greatly since the pandemic. The one thing you could count on Red Robin for was good burgers. The last time I went, the meat was so tough and chewy that I didn't eat much. Haven't gone back since.

As a vegetarian, I order the burger and eat fries for hours til I'm full. I gift the patty to an unhoused person.
