So it's 2 generations old and yes it isn't subject to the current Intel problems but unless you're just upgrading from a current 12th gen Intel CPU it's still not a good deal overall considering the microcenter deal that comes with a very good ddr5 compatible motherboard+32gb DDR5 Ram for much less than trying to match the same combo at other retailers. There's better deals out there for sure, especially on AM5
