FWIW, I bought one tonight. The current Ryobi deal made me curious (my basement has a lot of yellow), so I followed an expired link to this. Thanks to acpartsguys for the original.

Amazing product. Game changer for pruning.
This is a terrible price

EDIT: I was wrong. This is not the best price but not a terrible price either. Tool only = $85 but this comes with a 5Ah battery which is worth something, so overall a decent price.

My bad. My thinking was a rock bottom price for the tool is $85 on Amazon according to 3C, and half of a rock bottom 2-pack of batteries is $50, making that total $135-ish in the best circumstances. What would a good price for this be?

It's a great tool, dangerous AF but works great just be aware of where your fingers are at all times. IMO the bundle is pretty good if you need another battery ($79 was the last Woot sale) though tax and shipping hurt it some and most SDers probably have more 5AH batteries than they know what to do with.

I like mine but they have a brushed motor. If you play with it inside when you first get it then you'll probably see sparks. Won't even notice in daytime outside. You also have to be more careful about letting it cool down or you can burn out the motor. When I'm cutting branches to fit in the yard waste bin I turn into a machine.

I knew about the sparks but I didn't know about letting it cool down. wtf!? How long can you use it continuously before letting it cool down?

100% THIS. Do not be distracted with this tool or you can slice your fingers off very quickly!!

I bought the ~2.5' long pruner from Ryobi for my sister to use at her house because of the danger for chopping off fingers. You have to hold it with two hands and you would have to be trying to cut your fingers off with it. Not exactly the same took but safer.

I have the dewalt, craftsman, sunjoe, and ryobi (non-hp) variations. I always use the dewalt and craftsman. They are faster.

Best dewalt tool I ever purchased. It's one of those things that you don't realize you will love until you own it.

Agreed this thing is a game changer. Price is decent since it includes a 5AH battery. Note I use the smaller power stack battery on this since it's lighter and it goes for hours.

Is $109 for the Craftsman a better deal? Could you assign a dollar amount to the quality difference? Usually you lose something like charge speed or battery capacity. Craftsman aren't usually as good as the pro tradesman tools like Dewalt and Milwaukee. Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09VD26DVJ

Ya after 3 hours the 5Ah battery still had battery life in it. In hindsight, a 1.7 aH Powerpak would be a better option since the 5Ah battery is so darn heavy.
