Look for Thrustmaster.
Logi is charging so much for their 'better late than never' belt drives.
I got the TM Alcantara last BF around 500. Logi was still selling their noisy gear drives for 250.

They're apparently trying to set themselves up as the premium wheel base team. But that's if the product is better than the competition.

Probably still cheap compared to what some people spend on their sim racing rigs.
But yeah, this is not the way to go for casual gamers.

Brushless speaks to the motor in the wheel. It means that the sides of the motor do not contact each other. I think most direct drive wheels out there already use brushless motors so I don't think it's much of a thing to advertise. Also this may be a good deal for Logitech but there are much better wheels that are direct drive for much cheaper, even if they're not on sale. Check out any of the Youtube channels who review sim racing parts and you can fins a much better deal on different brands.

This is true when comparing Logitech G29 or G923 to TM Alcantara. However, their Pro wheel system is different since it's using direct drive. The noise with older Logitech wheels was coming from their gear driven systems.

Thanks for clarifying. So this is Logi's direct drive DD not belt drive BD.
Yeah DD are something else from Thrustmaster's BD.
More powerful etc. I heard DD almost broke someone's arms off. I'd be careful.

Well ... kind of, but not expensive for what it is. If you are big into sim racing a direct drive wheel base is so nice. They can get into the $4000 range without the wheel attached to the base for a brand like Leo Bodnar. Best price/performance is probably Simagic Alpha series, and their lowest end will cost you ~$800 with wheel included.

Yep. At Micro Center you must be 18 years or older to buy some wheel bases. Many will also install an emergency stop button...just in case.
