As an Englishman myself, it is completely safe to visit. Just take caution like you do in any place you visit as a tourist. January through March is gonna be some terrible weather. I've flown Norse a few times. The planes are nice (787s) but expect budget service. Everything is additional (bags, food, drinks, seat selection, etc.) Pay attention to their baggage dimensions/weight. They take it seriously. I've booked the cheapest fare and then put in the lowest bid to upgrade to premium and got it most of the time.

I've flown Norse before. They were really nice. Pretty barebones though for ammenties. Food is extra. Pay extra for baggages and seat selection. The staff were very friendly and it was comfortable. I flew to Gatwick from Miami last year. Think it was a similar price back then. They do have free movies/TV on the flight. You do get a free personal item (small backpack) that can fit under seat,

I believe the Gatwick airport had a sandwich, drink, chips combo for Β£4.99. Much better prices at the airport than the insane prices we pay in the US for food/drinks. UK for food in general seemed better priced than here.

You know exactly how it's different. Everybody is well aware of Count Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi's "Plan".

At this time of the year England is not just cold but damp, I mean really damp. New York is colder but it's dry and therefore much more enjoyable as a tourist. If you are from San Francisco or Seattle you should be already acclimatized to England. Maybe skip London and go down south to Devon - it might be a lot nicer there. Do not go north of London, unless you can swim.

Not that much of a deal. I am flying next week from Boston to Milan in SAS and I paid 310 bucks including carry on luggage and food. This one doesnt include anything and barebone fare. Good if you are travelling with a backpack

I just flew back from London and it was fine. I didn't see any rioting, unrest, etc. Weather was great. Keep in mind stuff is pricey when you get there but so is travel in general. Great deal

Anywhere you'd recommend visiting in winter in Europe if it's not for skiing?

Haha don't think my wife will like sitting in swirling wind and sideways rain.

There's a lot of differences. Personally, as a Jew, I feel a lot less safe there.
