I'm not finding any that cheap. Is there a specific merchant or just rando listings? There are some uncomplete auctions but those will almost certainly likely end higher.

I dont' mean to quibble, you can find stuff in that ballpark at least.

IMO: yes. These are phenomenal. Some people even say they're better than the X M5s.


But compared to Bose, it seems like it would be a matter of personal preference. The battle rages on.

Both are very good isolation but the Sony's are bit better per Rtings testing.
Rtings has a graphic showing the isolation levels and you can compare:

There are different Bose QC models though, but I just picked plain QC

I have Bose QC45 and my wife has the Sony XM4. I think both are extremely good but isolation, but things like comfort and sound quality factor too. You can look at the Rtings reviews for each for more details, the reviews are very complete.

They're likely referring to Secondipity, which has sales on OB/refurb XM4s & XM5s quite often on both their site and eBay store. I don't think they have anything right now, but they did have XM5s for $150 recently.
