To me, the XM4 are better.

NC700 has high clamping force and hurts over long hours. New QC (2023), my ears' corner touches the cups inside. Probably with thicker after-market ear pads, they will be okay.
But I never had this problem of ear touching inside of the cup with my new QC35ii when I bought them new 3 years ago.

They do in fact look brand new and work perfect, but is it worth $30 more to buy new ones in the event of any warranty issues?
It's pretty seamless. Turn them on and they connect, take them off and they pause. Leave them off for a little and they shut off.
What exactly are you looking for. The initial setup with BT took a couple tries (not as easy as my AirPods), but I don't think there is anything I'm missing with the Sony's.
I am mainly using them for travel, which isn't often. If I was going to be using them daily, maybe I could justify the max (but again, not sure what I'm missing with the Max over these).

I went from airpods (they hurt), to airpod pros (they also hurt), then to Bose QC 45 because everyone online says they're the most comfortable wireless device. If I place them not perfectly, they'll hurt. Placed perfectly about the ears, they'll still be uncomfortable after some time. Maybe my head/ears are just very sensitive...
I put up with these devices, but they're not enjoyable.
