Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 full model. Retails for $179 on sale for $145. Free shipping and returns directly from Xbox.

For those wondering what is the difference between this the "full" model and the cheaper "core" model:

"The primary difference between the Xbox Elite Series 2 Core and the regular (or full) Xbox Elite Series 2 controller lies in the accessories included and the level of customization available.

Xbox Elite Series 2 Core

• Accessories: The Core model is a more stripped-down version, and it only includes the controller itself along with a USB-C cable.
• Customization: It lacks the additional swappable components, such as extra thumbsticks, paddles, and D-pad options.
• Intended Audience: It's designed for gamers who want the basic features of the Elite Series 2 but may not need all the extra accessories or customization options.

Xbox Elite Series 2 (Full Model)

• Accessories: The full version comes with a range of extra components including:
• 6 thumbsticks with different designs
• 4 paddles
• 2 D-pads (standard and faceted)
• A carrying case, a charging dock, and a set of thumbstick adjustment tools.
• Customization: This model is meant for players who want to fully customize their gaming experience, offering maximum flexibility in how the controller is configured.

Both versions share the same core features like adjustable-tension thumbsticks, wrap-around rubberized grip, hair-trigger locks, and customizable profiles via the Xbox Accessories app .

In short, if you want more out of your controller in terms of hardware customization and included accessories, the full model is the better choice. If you're fine with just the essential features, the Core model offers the same performance without the extras."

Not worth, gets stick drift in few months and bumpers sometimes mess up. If it was cheaper I'll definitely pick up. 145$ still seems pricy

I had been using it for about two years before both LB and RB started becoming less responsive. I switched back to the regular controller.

Look into the KK3 Max for pc/switch/ios/android. Might be able to buy a modded ps/xbox controller with hall effect joysticks.

Xbox and ps controllers all suffer from eventual stick drift and unless you're into soldering you won't fix it. Planned obsolescence

so for $40 more you get a few extra plastic buttons to customize the controller?

You can get the core on sale regularly for 95 to 100, then the accessories to complete it for 50 (slick deal the other month for 25). This is not a deal, much less a slick deal.

The standard Elite Series 2 controller comes with a carrying case, charging dock, four rear paddle buttons, plus an alternate D-pad and thumbsticks. The Core version doesn't include those items.

My purely anecdotal experience is this, I purchased two Elite 2 controllers and absolutely loved it. They were used regularly and overall, it's my favorite controller to date. However, the left bumper button did recently fail on me. I took it apart and did the "quick fix" you can find on YouTube, and while it did work it was only temporary, within a few days the bumper was acting up again. The second Elite was for my son, and not long after mine started acting up, he was noticing stick drift on the right stick and a faulty right bumper. I still think it's my favorite controller to use, but I won't be buying another of this generation. For what it's worth they lasted over two years, but for the cost I expect better.

i've had 3 out of 3 xbox controllers, all different generations, all end up with severe stick drift. I don't have this problem with my PS4 or my Logitech or steam controller, all of which have years of use.

i don't understand if i'm just unlucky to get ones with manufacturing defects. I can't imagine spending $145 on a controller that is likely to get stick drift

I don't understand why Xbox and switch controllers are so notorious for drift. All of our original PS5 controllers are still in perfect condition, but an Xbox controller we bought last year is now having drift issues.

I don't think you are unlucky with the Xbox controllers. My house is littered with old controllers from the previous and current generations. I would say that you are lucky when it comes to your PS4 experience. The PS4's get far less use than our Xbox's get and I've got a stack of 3 of them that all have stick drift or sticky bumper buttons.

Long and short ... each of the "big 3" manufacturers crank out junk controllers. Even adult owned, well cared for controllers will get drift and button stick. It's simply a function of how much you game, what types of games you play, and a bit of the lottery when it comes to how well the controller was put together at the factory. Of course, abusing your controller will accelerate the inevitable demise.
