TGP for this model is 75w so you'll be limited a bit. 4060 mobile reaches peak performance at about 100 watts as shown here - https://www.socpk.com/laptopgpucurve/

I wouldn't go for it for gaming because the tdp for the chassis (both cpu & gpu) is 85w. This doesn't leave much power budget for the cpu and very little thermal headroom for gaming workloads.

Here's the info page via Asus: https://www.asus.com/laptops/for-...led-m6500/

i'm very tempted to replace my 2022 g14 6800 for this for the 4060... but I'm guessing this gpu is neutered by wattage caps... I can't find any benchmarks which is really sad. Anyone got exp?

this has everything i'm looking for except a touchscreen and dolby vision, but i could probably live without, to replace my evoo lp5 Smilie soldered ram is a bit of a bummer, but 32gb is plenty, and all in a <4lb package! also super-weird to have TWO usb2.0 ports AND no thunderbolt in 2024..at least make them usb 3.0, come on..

There are tons of ASUS laptop deals here. Many with touch screens. With all the different variations, surely you can find the combination of specs you want. If you want Thunderbolt, look at the Intel variants (most AMD-based do not include Thunderbolt).

The one thing I do not like about this Vivibook Pro is the plaque they plaster on the top lid. That will make for fun times when cleaning the top. Why did they do this? Other Vivibook Pro series do not have the plaque. Yet more head-spinning trying to make heads-or-tails out of their laptop series. Apart from this model, most of their Pro models have WORSE displays than the non-Pro versions. It's weird.

BUT, I love ASUS laptops. Great value (on the right deal or with open box) and build quality is as good as anyone. Their designs are mostly great, too.

It has USB 4.0, why do you need Thunderbolt?

Buyer beware on specs for the price... The shell of this, Vivobook as it were, is cheaply made and doesn't have the quality feel to go with the good specs.

Agreed. At $1100 for a 4060 its overpriced, and the screen resolution is too high for a 4060 mobile GPU. This is better as an editing laptop than a gaming laptop.

This was never meant to be a gaming laptop in the first place. It's a creator laptop, and this is a great price considering the specs.

I own last year's version (120Hz OLED, 3050), and it's very nicely built, better than something like a Zenbook 14 OLED, which we also own.

I'd personally buy a Legion Slim 5 14.5" next time, those seemed really well made, but no complaints about the Vivobook Pro 15.

Why is this is a gaming laptop? Oh wait, in the second paragraph it mentions gaming. Must be a gaming laptop!

Vivobook Pro 15 OLED delivers exceptional performance for all-day, every-day multitasking, with an AMD Ryzen™ 7000 series Processor and NVIDIA® RTX™ graphics for the ultimate productivity and creativity. This GPU is built with the powerful graphics performance of the NVIDIA® Ampere architecture.

The 120 Hz refresh rate and 0.2 ms response time OLED laptop display provides incredible smooth and clear motion visuals by reducing ghosting to an indiscernible level — now you can enjoy seamless visuals whether it's for gaming, creation, day-to-day work and media entertainment.

Do you happen to know if this one has a second SSD slot? It always feels like such a challenge finding out for sure. Other than that it meets most of my wants as well. I'm not even that pressed about the GPU, but 32gb ram, two slots for storage, and a great display are pushing me towards this one

Vivobook isn't their gaming line of laptops. That would be Zephyrus, TUF, etc...
