I bought this from the deal back then — comes with only 1 battery; the unit does not come with a separate battery

That appears to be correct and this only comes with one battery, according to the 'included' information and user reviews.

Big waste of money.
You can buy a dual zone cooler for $300 and spend the other $263 for a decent size power station that you can use for other tasks beside cooling the cooler.

I tend to agree with this. Cordless appliances can often make sense, but you're usually forced into a specific battery format. That makes sense for well-developed cordless tool lines where the same battery pack can power a wide wariety of devices. But for cordless appliances, a power station with DC, A/C and usb outputs is a more flexible, adaptable solution.

Now, if Ryobi or Dewalt only made a decent mini fridge, a coffee maker and a few other off grid appliances, I might change my tune.

Or what the market is clearly crying out for: a cordless blender/margarita maker. Hear that, Ryobi?

I just bought this fridge and a Dometic about the same size. This one is far superior to the Dometic. You do need to watch out for issues. These Glaciers are know to have issues where the temperature runs away and freezes everything. I've been testing mine for days in my office and it's been working good.

This one makes ice, It's dual zone, divider doubles as a cutting board, The battery lasts 20 hours, you can charge a laptop or phone w the battery, you can charge it w solar. Solid for the price I think. I doubt there is anything comparable at the price point.

I'm tempted to buy this since it's half off and I already have the Delta 2 and a 200w solar panel. Would be using for Van camping, not full time though so not sure if I could justify a $560 portable cooler. That said, it would pair with my existing EcoFlow stuff and also could run indefinitely off solar which is nice if I did longer trips. What makes this nicer than the Dometic one you bought?

Anyone know if this deal comes up very often? Guessing they may be releasing a new version soon if they are doing half off, so maybe it'll be available again.

I bought one of these a while back when it had a retail price of around 1k with the battery. It really has had nothing but issues from the start.

Makes a god awful buzzing noise, I was told it was the compressor and fine
Ice maker temperature sensor has stopped working, so wit would freeze the entire tray into a solid block.
Ice maker lid button doesn't work unless you smack it.

Keep your packaging, really hard to return without.

Thanks for the input - yeah I think I may hold off for now. I like the ice-making feature, but it's pretty easy to buy a bag of ice or get ice trays. I would imagine it'll go on sale again over the next few months. I wonder if they've made improvements on the original one by now, or if that will be a 2.0 version.
