Best price I've seen on these. I had been waiting on these to drop but while doing so came across another brand ratchet. One that I dismissed almost immediately as all my other tools are ridgid. The hyper tough 12v. They have a smaller profile, they're not as powerful, so you won't see them winning any torque contests but that's not the purpose of these. They speed up assembly and disassembly. Now the HT aren't the fastest either but there inexpensive, they have been plenty fast in my personal use (I'm not paid by the HR while using the tools), they have good trigger speed control and the lower torque has been a net positive in keeping me from over torquing smaller fasteners. I can run the nut or bolt down then hit them with a torque wrench real quick. Lastly the HT aren't brushless but this isn't a tool that I think that matters. Battery life has been great for me. And spare batteries are cheap. I haven't been impressed with the other tools in the HT lineup enough to buy but I've got the standard length and long reach ratcheting wrench and both have been great. If I had one to buy it would be the long reach which doesn't look to be on sale here.

To start, I do love the Ridgid line (have a quite a few), but a friend has this ratchet, and yes, way too bulky and gets in the way a LOT. I bought the M12 ratchet and it's, in my opinion, a better tool with more maneuverability.

Any comments on how these compare to the milwaukee m12 ratchets? Seems kind of long and bulky to get into a lot of spots.

These can be useful but as others have mentioned it is bulky. I see the M12 to be more useful in tight spaces. Torque aside, I personally would go with a smaller unit for better access. Good price though

It's not a bad deal. My situation is i have a 3/8 anvil and the head is the same size as 1/2, just different anvil. That head is too big for tight spaces like other poster claimed, at least in my use cases (auto). 1/4th is smaller and should be better in that regard but i can't comment on that.

Overall these don't have the torque your impact gun will provide, but like other poster mentioned, it's not for impacting. On 3/8, you get 40-50lb/ft which is enough for fastening and won't over tighten most metal fasteners whose sizes come in 3/8 sockets. Plastic, well, YMMV Smilie.

Think of this as a luxury item unless you have trade use for it daily. You can live without it, but it sure is damn nice to have when you have a long bolt, or 10-30 of them to remove, like the under shield plate on a car.

Already have 2 of the M12 ratchets in 3/8". Good price, though.

Why won't they ever run a sale on the 1/4" ratchet in the M12 line?
