While I do agree with your assessment on Apple, I can say plugging something like a ssd or even an old toshiba hard drive that is usb-c actually worked with getting media off my iPhone 15 to the drive so I am inclined to say this reader would work.
Yes, it definitely works with the iPhone 15. I've tested it myself, and you can easily copy images using the Files app. You can also use both an SD card and a microSD card at the same time without any issues.
Probably not. Apple intentionally makes their products NOT compliant with industry standards. They don't want you to get your data off of your phone. They want you to pay for iCloud / abusively overpriced storage. Apple abuses their customers. To which most of them respond by saying: "Please Sir, I want some more." What an amazing business?!

Any memory card reader that doesn't explicitly state the speed at which it can read / write to cards will be mediocre at best. Not an issue for occasional users. A real pain for frequent users. And how much do you save? $15?

Very well explained. I'm an iPhone user myself and I can't stand Apple being so greedy.

I use an Anker hub on my iphone for memory card reading, it works great. Not as portable as a smaller reader but not to big either.

It stated clearly "USB 3.0 speeds of up to 5Gbps " in the product description. I don't understand why some said it didn't state speed?

Probably most people here weren't born yet, but they might be shocked to see how much Apple has changed. So much hypocracy, all around.
