As someone else that has a vast backlog I'll give my reasoning: usually it's a game that I have a good/mild interest in but didn't want to pay full price on. So I'll buy it while it's cheaper and thinking I'll get to playing it after I finish whatever I'm currently playing. But then something that captures more of my interest takes priority and the game I ended up buying on sale starts to go further and further from my sight of interest.

Usually ends up remaining indefinitely in my backlog 😞

...with that being said... I'm in for 1 Thousand Year Door being added to my infinite backlog 😂

Note these are likely not originally North America region games, but from other countries where it was bought cheaper. There is no region lock on game cartridges so they will play exactly the same, its just the packaging may be different from a NA region package.

@spaceman6969 This perfectly sums up why I have a crazy backlog of games. Also, I have a toddler that keeps me busy most of my waking hours so it's hard to find the time to play through that backlog. However I have finished two games in the past year so there's some progress. 😂

At $45 I couldn't resist adding Thousand Year Door to my ridiculous backlog.

Unfortunately, can't get the $5 off coupon code to work for the sports game.

In for paper mario. I almost just bought it for slightly cheaper on playasia along with $50 final fantasy 1-6 but I know I'll never play those old final fantasy games. As others have said, into the backlog this goes. My Switch collection of RPGs ever grows!

So many good sales, so little free time

That said, I am not biting on this one. Not because of price but because I already know it's going to be a helluva time commitment on my part.

True that. But Wouldn't that still be the same for any other games out there? There are so many games out there to explore and future titles keep coming down the pipeline and there is so little time per day for gamers to take advantage.

Also, from what I have observed, having a large library is expensive, and I just assume all gamers have a steady career with very limited disposable income left.

Also, there is no guarantee that a game will get cheaper over time, especially Nintendo games, so you need to get them when they go on sale. That just exacerbates the problem because you feel pressured to get it before the price goes back up, not knowing if it will go down again.

I see. You're not concerned about buying the wrong game? Nintendo game included? I'm just asking cuz I for example get concerned with game that I may not like it at all. And it expensive too. Tried Paper Mario TYD and I unfortunately didn't like it.

$48 and change after tax for Thousand Year Door. Just an okay deal, but I still jumped on it.
