Eh, this is a great bag for a nurse or really anyone. Every brand doesn't have to be strictly one thing. I like some of TNF and Patagonia stuff that isn't strictly outdoor tough.
Borealis is a line, not a single item. This is the Borealis tote backpack, not to be confused with the existing Borealis backpack, which you are describing. There is also a Borealis sling, a 10L daypack, etc.
An even better honest question would be, why do staff have reputation points?

When The North Face marketers try to make it into a Lifestyle brand, you get mediocre stuff like this. TNF really became popular because they brought Camping/Hiking/Outdoor/Mountaineering gear into functional everyday wear. This particular bag just makes the brand look cringey. I used to have an older Borealis; don't call it that because it was nothing like this. The older Borealis had padded straps, padded support back, and a hip support strap. In other words, it was comfortable, not a Fjällräven Kånken.

Eh, most brands do this. Here's Patagonia's similar product, which has worse reviews.

They still have the Borealis backpack by the way.

I mean, the Patagonia one is better. They never have to discount that thing.

You're staff and the the OP. Honest question, why don't you put this information in the editor's notes?

It says stand-up design in the description.

Can this really stand on its own?

210D is really thin for a bag isn't it?
The volcom trapper bag I got a few months ago for $15 is 600D and it seems adequate but if it were a lot thinner I'd be a little wary

I think some of the appeal here is the lighter weight of the 210d. This bag probably isn't being marketed to mountain climbers and outdoor athletes.
