This is an acceptable deal, but it's been this price for a while and really doesn't move the needle on value at all. Additionally, it's a substantially worse value than some of the previous microcenter bundle deals. For example, a couple months ago you could get the 12900k (a meaningfully superior processor), the ddr5 version of this motherboard, and 32gb (twice as much) good quality ddr5 6000 cl32 using hynix memory chips for $400. In fact, that bundle even briefly dropped down to $380. There's also the 7700x + mobo + 32gb ddr5 bundle which has gone as low as $350 in the past, and is likewise a far better value. This bundle at $300 doesn't even come close to comparing in value.

As a side note, using ddr4 rather than ddr5 with 12th gen intel procesors does actually have a substantial impact on performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gV3fDDLr918

Overall, if you need a super cheap bundle right now this is an ok deal, but nothing special. If you can afford to wait, I'd recommend doing so. If your budget isn't quite as tight and you need a bundle immediately, I'd recommend the $400 7700x bundle over this one. Even though at $400 it's substantially more expensive than it's gone on sale for in the past, it's still a better value, though once again I'd wait if you don't have an urgent need.

You know shipping costs money right? Where do you think that comes from?

If Microcenter starts shipping, they'll raise prices to cover. Thankfully I live near one and I'll gladly drive there to keep a few more dollars out of Amazon & Newegg.

Bought the cpu motherboard combo from Microcenter about 1 1/2 yrs ago for $300. This has DDR4 included for same price. It's a good deal and would get this again now given the 13th and 14th gen stability issues being reported.

Really depends on what your main use is for it and if gaming what resolution you are playing at. Gaming benchmarks show the most improvement at 1080P and decrease to almost nothing at 4K. Heavy workload stuff you might see a little difference but not crazy numbers difference. I guess if you are going to keep it for 5years the extra $100 might be worth it but otherwise I'll stick with my DDR4 until there's anything that compels me to change as it's more than enough for what I do.

For $110 more get the i9-12900 w/32GB DDR5-6000

Edit: Price on the i9 bundle just went up $20 5 minutes after I took the screen shot.

I got similar deal a year ago for $340 and they gave me used dead DIMMs. When I tried to return the RAM it appeared to cost almost nothing. So think of it as a deal without RAM .
