Another 7520u laptop deal - Alright here we go...

IMPORTANT THING YOU NEED TO KNOW - 7520u is an older Zen 2 CPU with a severely cut down iGPU (Radeon 610M or something) only has 2 CU's out of the possible 12 in the full version 680M. I'm appalled that they dare use the phrase "blazing fast speed" for the CPU and graphics. Quintessential HOGWASH.

RAM soldered LPDDR5- not upgradeable.

Energy efficient - and touchscreen that's about it. My personal opinion is this thing is like buying a new Ford Fiesta (or whatever eco car). There are probably much much better options for even a low price like this.

Not bashing on you, OP. I appreciate your contributing!
Zen 2 processor is pretty outdated but this laptop is fairly cheap.

Both are a few bucks more but are a whole league (or 2) better.

Wonder if the RAM is upgradeable. If not I'd go for a Lenovo Flex 5 with 16GB on eBay or something like that

win 11 is beyond awful, id avoid it if possible, otherwise its fine , for 350, its not horrible. but 8gb ram , will leave you needing another device in a year or so .

if you don't mind spending another $30, this seems to be a better deal. I personally picked up one and no complaints whatsoever.

+ Backlight keyboard
+ USB C which support power delivery and display. Running two external monitors
+ 12gb Ram with one additional slot to upgrade
+ Latest generation processor though its I3.
+ Very lightweight

- No touchscreen

lol it's not out dated. Just FYI the ryzen 7 3700u is zen + which is even older than zen2. The Passmark score of that is about 7000. This is a newer smaller process of zen 2 on DDR5 this has a Passmark score of 10,000. So sorry your not accurate in your statement. It's actually very efficient. This is basically AMDs bottom tier processor. Which is still faster than intels pentium series.

Whether the laptop is any good that's a different story. But I'm tired of everyone saying the 7520u is a recycled 2019 processor when it is not. Zen 2 I believe was 12nm and this is 6nm.

So please get your facts straight.

So no it's not an old recycled processor. If it was it's performance would be less than a 3700u and still on 12nm

Zen 2 was the 4000 series u chips. The 4300u has a Passmark score of 7000 ish, and the 4500u 6 core is about the same as this 7520u. That chip is 7nm. The 7520u is 6nm. So not exactly recycling an older chip.
