Pulled the trigger on this from Amazon for the same price, considering getting it from Costco instead for the warranty. Very happy with the AVR, hard to match these features at $400 , and there is no significant difference in the updated model (the 1800).

Just an fyi, If you don't already use the work around;
Plug your HDMI 2.1 source directly into an available HDMI 2.1 input on your TV then use that monitors ARC to pass back the Atmos/DTSx codec to your current receiver. Requires double the HDMI cables and not available in every use case (In-Wall Pass Thrus) and make require some interim panduits but beats having to pay MSRP until the 3rd or so generation of eARC/HDMI 2.1 receivers come down in prices.

3808CI to
I have 6 Denon's from 2008 3808CI to current s760h and none of them have had HDMI board failures. All in use and most connected to OLED TV's.

As long as they have proper ventilation they should be fine. If you are worried about heat then add an AC Infinity cooling fan.

All the good AVR deals have dried up, keep waiting for the Onkyo NR 7100 to come back @ $550, but haven't seen it pop back up for that price yet, need to replace my Denon x2200 with something that has eARC and 120 hz and a phono input, this is not the droid I'm looking for.

This has a phono input. I haven't hooked up a turntable yet but if it doesn't have the built-in preamp is it a deal breaker to then get, say, one from Schiit?

Are the 2 subwoofer outputs independent or is it a splitter like the S series?

Had a same problem. Looks like none of the new receivers have pre-amp. got a new woofer.

Yeah, I kind of wish I grabbed the Onkyo NR-7100 at the $650 price. Seems like the cheapest HDMI 2.1 with >100 watts/channel and the ability to bi-amp my front floor standing speakers (which seems to really help them pump some bass).

Amazon had the X1800 for $27 more not long ago, another deal or refurb deal on the Denon site will appear by Black Friday most likely

Why do you need a built in preamp if the receiver has a dedicated phono input? What turntable are you connecting?

I connect my old Technics turntable directly to my Denon s750h that has a phono input. Works great!

I'm in the market for an AVR upgrade, but this seems pretty lukewarm? I've been eyeing an X1800H or possibly X3800H, but will probably hold out til Black Friday at this point

What gen is the sr3100 for $220?

I have been using rx v385 with that workaround while prices came down but the sr3100 seems like it does 4k hdr/120hz perfectly

It is. Black Friday usually gets gets 25% off refurbs. The X3800h hasn't gone back to its low of $899 in November of 2023.

Has Denon started actively cooling? Everyone I know with Denons, their HDMI chips go out after warranty because they aren't properly cooled.

These are parallel/mono sub outs.

If I recall correctly need to jump up to 3800 for independent sub outs with the current models.
