Nvrmd, figured it out. Add it to your cart with free battery kit and you'll see the price drop. Then you'll have to return the battery kit

You have to also add the battery under the Shop This Offer link. Seems like a great price. But I also have the angle grinder and had to look up how this would differ. The answer is it's smaller, so better ergonomics for tighter spaces. If i hadnt spent so much money on the last Dewalt Tough 2 storage deal, I probably would've bought this, even though I don't think I really need it. LOL Grin

Yes, this one makes a cleaner cut than using a grinder, and you can hook up a vacuum attachment, so there is less clean-up.

The only reason i would have to need this over a grinder is cutting hardie backer. The dust collection is nice, but then you have to have vacuum ready to go to. Its a niche tool imo

It's one of those tools you always find new and unexpected uses for. I use mine a couple times a month and it's never been anything I would've considered using the grinder for.

I used it for shortening some ground terminal screws to use in a dryer. I used it for cutting wire shelving in half after stacking the washer and dryer where it used to be. I used it for removing the sharp edge of some wire shelving at the convenience store next to my workshop when it ripped my elderly mother's skin open (they're lucky she didn't sue). I used it to remove a tiny piece of the RF shielding on a Sega Dreamcast that was getting DCHDMI/DCDigital. I used it to cut up a plastic blow molded case to fit a different tool than it originally shipped with. I used it for cutting nickel strips spot welded to cells in battery packs.

The list goes on and on. It's just so small and controllable that it really lends itself to small jobs you'd never even consider using a grinder on.

No but it's really nice and easy to handle. I love the grip and balance of these cutt-off saws over a grinder, feel way more in control cutting small bars and bolts. Wouldn't invest in one if you rarely use your grinder for cutting though
