Just received an Intel version yesterday from work. The form factor is great, but not as nice as the old XPS. Also, at least on the Intel battery life is atrocious, less than 2 hours. Though this maybe due to overzealous IT.
Yeah. Intel CPU is really bad at battery life. Mine lasts only around 1-1:30 hrs.

But AMD reportedly has "SinkClose" security issue too.

Good deal!
Fyi, the 2 RAM slots are upgradable, so if you need 64gb, you can buy & install it yourself.
They're also clocked at 5600MHz instead of the usual 6400 and 7500 they clock their soldered sticks at. That's a decent gap. It'll even be noticeable on a regular system. APUs, however, are even more sensitive to memory.

64GB with 2.8K OLED is showing as $1059 for me (preconfigured). Build Yours is also on sale, but the $1059 build is a better value vs. BYO.

I'm tempted, but I'm guessing that AMD Gen 6 with Ryzen AI and faster CAMM2 memory modules is just around the corner.

Probably.

It's going to force you to turn the specs down though.

You are not going see those AI chips in Thinkpad for another 6 months.

How loud is the fan? I had a T series for work and I liked it a lot. Is this heavier and louder?

Dammit, now I've ordered it…

Oh well—was literally about to pick up the $850 OLED Slim 7i at Costco—but this Thinkpad (while heavier) seems like it'll last a bit longer. Will be replacing an 8th Gen Core i7 Windows laptop (I primarily use an 11th Gen i5 Chromebook.)

Lenovo always beta test new CPU on consumer line before putting them in Thinkpad.

Sad, I am curious why it needs that much time to release while ASUS already has quite a few configurations on the market.

I know some people prefer the less power hungry screens but I like them bright, sharp, and fast and this one is none of those. I would love a Thinkpad with a 1000 nit screen.
