Good luck if you buy. The Hisense s&d unit I got was trashed and had severe sun damage/discoloration. Then I got to repack and haul it to ups . Such a headache

My pinguino never needs draining. This Toshiba is so bad I had to add an electric pump to drain. Also most of these arrive slightly damaged. I had to repair an internal crack (!) and the air vent is usually pressed in

That unit doesn't do heating. BTU might be slightly different also. But definitely no heat on the Costco one.

I bought one of these for $500 back in May. Absolutely love it. The app is great, I set up a schedule to turn it on about an hour before I got to bed. I then have a sleep schedule programmed in it that can slowly raise the temp through the night.

Does anyone know the lockout temp for heat (aka it has to be above 41*F outside for heat pump to work)?

Anyone know the wattage of this device. I saw 1300 and then 2600 mentioned on other sites. Trying to know if a 1600watt/2000 surge watts generator could run it?

In one of the photos, it claims it pulls 11.9 amps. I don't own one but from quick math.. 120V x 11.9A = 1428 watts.
Edit: I'm curious if it has a soft-start feature. Otherwise, you may need an inverter that can handle 2x the surge.

This is a white-labeled Midea duo (also sold as a Cooper and Hunter and Whynter and other brands). The Toshiba is exclusive to Home Depot. It's a good unit. I got the Cooper and Hunter for my garage but returned it because the dual hose intake/exhaust didn't reach my window. There are no extension kits for it either. Also, this unit is heavy AF so keep that in mind. Reviews I saw were pretty good fwiw.

I bought this unit last year when it was on sale...

There seems to be an issue with the thermostat so it's almost useless... basically you can set the AC to run sat at 72 degrees... However, the unit itself thinks that the temperature in the room is 65 (basically a lower temperature and you don't know what), so it won't run. You'll have to manually turn down the temp to say 60 for it to "kick in" and run.. it might run until it's super cold in the room, then stop again later. Basically making the automatic temperature setting useless.. seems to be common from other online threads too

Your temp sensors might not be in the right place, mine came dislodged. They're supposed to be in the middle of the intake/exhaust airstreams

The description says "new", but Woot's own description in their FAQ says Scratch and Dent is Grade C Refurbished(the lowest grade).
reminds me of woot sending me the wrong chromebook refurb for $40 (it was a side grade / mild upgrade with some small downsides i did not care about so I did not complain / return it…yet feels like a gamble where you may get more work or a return after the one click button is pushed.)

Thanks OP. In 4 1. My MIL likes the temp at 70 at night, so I'll try this in the guest room when she visits and the garage when she's not....
