This is a strange product to me. Sonos is historically a brand that favors the Apple ecosystem, but these specifically state that lossless audio is not compatible with Apple devices over bluetooth.

Lossless audio requirements for Sonos Ace
You can listen to lossless audio on Sonos Ace over USB-C connections or over a Bluetooth connection with a supported Android device.

Lossless over Bluetooth
Sonos Ace supports lossless audio over Bluetooth when connected to an Android device that includes Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound AptX for Lossless.
Lossless audio is not available when connected to an iOS device via Bluetooth.

Lossless over USB-C
Sonos Ace supports lossless audio when connected to a device via USB-C. Both USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to 3.5mm connections are supported.

If you aren't aware Sonos rushed these headphones to production and screwed up their entire app and functioning speakers. Where I used to have instant volume and song control there are now massive delays.

Check out their recent Google Play reviews averaging a 1.3 for the app.

Or the multiple articles on how they messed it up: https://www.engadget.com/audio/sp...28060.html

For months and months long time customers have been having problems and they don't care.

Consider that if you're thinking of buying these...

I was considering buying these until I realized I wouldn't be able to stream audio from my turntable that's hooked up to a play 5 currently. These can only swap TV audio with the Sonos Arc, so not even my Beam would be compatible. Strange oversight on their part, but maybe I'm in the minority of wanting that functionality.

I have these and they are basically a lighter more comfortable version of AirPods Max. Sonos has been updating their app every two weeks since these were released to add back and add functionality in the Sonos ecosystem. They will be compatible with Sonos beam in a few weeks instead of direct connect to just the Arc. They connect like any bluetooth headphones regardless of what your source is. Only thing I don't like is the ear cushions are the faux leather and they just get hot like faux leather does. My Bose and bang and Olufsen don't get hot, and the AirPods Max is a mesh material so they don't get hot, those are just uncomfortable and heavy. The Ace is side by side in the top three blue tooth wireless headphones. Never pay full price for any headphones.

I'm normally an Apple fan and pretty invested in their ecosystem, but what Sonos is calling out here is an Apple limitation not a Sonos problem.

I am interested in trying these.

I returned the XM5 because of the ear cushions causing sweating, is it that bad? I liked the loudness of the XM4.

I have the Bose ultra qc and the bowers and wilkins px8. Loved transparency on AirPods Max but the ear cups smelled aweful if you sweat in them. Gross for gym, lol.
