Is this a worthy upgrade from an EOS-R?

I'm still not happy about the unavailability of 3rd party lenses for RF mount. Not sure if I want to keep throwing money at Canon.

No 3rd party is really what kept me away from Canon. Sure they have APS-C 3rd party now but it's so late in the game. I'm deep into the Sony system now with lenses, flashes, cards etc... and while it took a little bit of adjusting I really like it a lot. The AI processing on the A7Cii, R V is so good. With how much it cost to switch systems I really don't see myself going back to Canon. They are excellent but they used to be more affordable. Their lenses are big and expensive.

I switched to Canon when they introduced the 6D - a real game-changer for me, despite it's limitations. I was looking to go mirrorless, so when I found a fantastic deal on the RP, I bought one with kit 24-105 RF zoom to try out.

Again...limitations, but it made me aware of what I really want feature and performance-wise.
The R6 Mark II is a viable candidate, but since I haven't invested in additional RF lenses yet, my options are open.

Your description of the Sony model has me a bit confused - A7Cii, R V - would you be kind enough to drop a link so I may evaluate the exact model? Thanks!

Should I get the STM kit for $2299? I have no lenses or cameras. Using my iPhone 13 to take pictures of my artwork for instagram. Im not crazy about the photos. I want to invest in a good camera that will last. I also like the video capabilities.

I see the refurbished can be $1699/$1759/$1799 when in stock. But then need to buy the lens which is $399. So it's like a $100 difference for new or same price? That's worth it to me to get this. Is this a good all around lens for my purposes?

Edit: maybe I'll take the leap and get the $3099 usm. OK, I got it
