I've said it before but Casio calculators absolutely smoke TI calculators in usability, cost, technology, and features. The only reason anyone buys the TIs is the teachers who never learned to use a better calculator because TI was the only option 40 years ago when they were in school. TI almost has a pointless artificial monopoly and they are milking it
These Calculators are approved for use on the AP Calculus test and I would say are more intuitive to use than the Ti-84. Half the price for the same functionality is pretty good. Also you don't need an old teacher who only knows how to use one calculator to help. Kids these days can figure it out from YouTube or Google.
Eh, I used a casio all through AP Calculus back in middle and high school in the early 2000s. It was what I could afford and kids can figure it out. $43 vs > $100 matters to a lot to some families.

This is such old tech. I can't imagine this costing them more than a quarter to produce.
And what schools even use/recommend Casio? Instructions taught to students are usually all focused around the TI-8x calculators.

This, I was one of those kids in the mid 90s where my parents bought me the Casio and the teacher was like, "you're on your own kid..." .
Parents, buy your kid the Reebok Pumps, not the LA Gear Regulators (IYKYK).

Curious as I've never done advanced math, won't a cell phone do this?

Very well said - It's hard for cheapskates like us to "bend over and take it" just because TI has a monopoly, but your kid doesn't need the additional stress and mental load at school because you got a great deal. For my office job, this will do just fine.

Flip side of both these comments. We have a TI-83 Plus, my daughter a junior in high school hates it and prefers a Casio we had picked up when she was in middle school. Still uses it and the TI sits in my desk collecting dust.

Another option is to check FaceBook Marketplace... I always see TI-83/84/89s on there for like $50 is good condition. Most people don't keep these forever after school and they are built like tanks lol. Definitely better with a good condition used TI than a new "hobo" Casio in the US Education system at least because of the TI stranglehold...

Same, Casio is way better than Texas instruments when it comes to graphing calculators.

Maybe go lookup the answer to your biased question using this model number.

If you can't do that .. you defintiley don't need a calculator like this.
